Wichita man wanted in connection with fatal Arkansas City shooting

A 37-year-old Wichita man is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting Friday afternoon in Arkansas City, officials said.

“We believe (Christopher Robert) Henry is no longer in our community and is likely in the Wichita area,” Arkansas City Police Chief Dan Ward said in a Saturday news release. “A warrant for his arrest has been obtained and we are working with the Wichita Police Department to locate him. Henry should be considered armed and dangerous.”

Jonathan Martinez was shot Friday afternoon and airlifted to a Wichita hospital where he later died, the release said. The 28-year-old Arkansas City man and Henry knew each other, according to police.

Anyone with information on Henry can contact the Arkansas City Police Department at 620-441-4444. Callers can remain anonymous by calling the Cowley County Crime Stoppers 620-221-7777 and can be eligible for a reward.
