Wichita couple wake up to teenage neighbor pointing gun at them, police say
A couple woke up in their southwest Wichita home Wednesday morning and found a 17-year-old boy pointing a gun at them, police said.
The boy lives in the same block and was arrested at his home without incident, officer Charley Davidson said.
The teen was arrested on suspicion of two counts of aggravated residential burglary, theft and aggravated assault, police said in a news release.
The victims, a 37-year-old man and 36-year-old woman, reported that they woke up to find the teen pointing a gun, which was taken from inside the home, at them. The boy left on foot with the gun and a wallet, police said.
The wallet has been recovered but police haven’t found the gun, Davidson said.
