Ex-boyfriend dragged woman out of house, kidnapped her at gunpoint, Wichita police say

Wichita police are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect and victim in a domestic violence case where a man allegedly kidnapped his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint.

The incident happened at around 8:35 p.m. Monday at a house in the 3000 block of South Davidson, the Wichita Police Department said in a Facebook post. Albert Cruz-Aviles allegedly went to the house and dragged his ex-girlfriend, Peggy Ott, out of the house against her will.

A roommate tried to intervene, police said, but Cruz-Aviles allegedly struck him on the head with a handgun. A gunshot was then fired, but the bullet did not hit anyone.

Police have not found Cruz-Aviles or Ott, who they say may be in danger. An attempt-to-locate has been issued for Ott, and Cruz-Aviles is now suspected of aggravated battery and aggravated kidnapping.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
