Wichita man accused of assaulting teen foster care runaway is charged with rape
A Wichita man accused of sexually assaulting a teen foster care runaway has been charged with rape and two counts of contributing to a child’s misconduct, according to court records.
Willie Leroyce Green, 41, was charged with the felonies Friday in Sedgwick County District Court. He is being held in the Sedgwick County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bond.
Police said in a news release that an 18-year-old woman told officers she was raped by Green after he picked up her and a 12-year-old and took them to his home. Both the 18-year-old and the 12-year-old were runaways from a foster home, Wichita police spokesman Officer Paul Cruz wrote. Officers learned of the rape after they went to a home in the 1500 block of South Pinecrest for a medical call at about 7:40 p.m. on Feb. 18.
Green lives on that block and used to work at a fast-food restaurant at 13th and Hillside, he wrote on an application for a court-appointed defense attorney.
Green was booked into jail early on Feb. 19. His next court date is March 5.
