Steven Motors agrees to pay $10,000 after ‘unsolicited consumer telephone calls’ were made
Wichita-based Steven Motors has agreed to pay $10,000 after the state says the company made telemarketing calls to people on the National Do Not Call Registry.
The agreement occurred this week in Shawnee County District Court against Steven Motors, which does “business in multiple counties” in Kansas, according to the consent judgment. The agreement also bans the business from making future “unsolicited consumer telephone calls.” The Kansas Attorney General’s Office said it began investigating Steven Motors after receiving complaints.
“We continue to vigorously pursue violations of the Kansas No-Call Act,” Attorney General Derek Schmidt said in a news release. “Kansans who have signed up for the Do-Not-Call list have an expectation that their privacy will be respected. We will enforce the law against those telemarketers who violate it.”
Steven Motors does not admit to any wrongdoing in the agreement. Attempts to reach the company for comment were unsuccessful.
