Wichita police investigate deadly shooting of 35-year-old man at his home

Wichita police say a man with multiple gunshot wounds was found by a friend at his south-side home early Sunday morning before he died at a hospital.

Emergency crews were called to a shooting at around 2:50 a.m. to the 1700 block of South Glenn, Officer Charley Davidson said in a news release. A 45-year-old woman reported to police that she had come to her friend’s house and found him unresponsive.

The 35-year-old man had been shot several times. He was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries. Police identified him as James Winston.

The investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information on the case to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
