Benton city administrator arrested in sexual battery case
The Benton city administrator, who used to be the Benton police chief, was arrested Monday on suspicion of sexual battery of a Benton employee, Butler County Sheriff Kelly Herzet said.
Charles Hefton was arrested Monday at his home without incident, Herzet said. Hefton posted his $1,000 that night. Herzet said Hefton had been on administrative leave since the alleged incident. Herzet said his department started investigating the case in late November to early December.
Benton City Attorney Robert Lane would not comment on the case.
