Cruise line customer service rep in Wichita admits threatening to kill caller’s family

A former customer service representative for a cruise line’s call center in Wichita has admitted to threatening during a phone call to kill a family.

Allison C. Dixon, 32, of Wichita, pleaded guilty Wednesday in U.S. District Court to one count of transmitting a threatening communication, U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister said in a news release.

Dixon admitted in her plea that she was employed by Celebrity Cruises, a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Cruises, when she answered a call at the company’s Wichita call center in April 2018. The customer “became dissatisfied with the service provided by (Dixon)“ and hung up on her.

She then called the customer back about 3 minutes later on a private phone, the plea states. She told the customer she knew where they lived and that she planned to travel to Illinois to kill the customer and their family.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 10, and Dixon could face up to 5 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000. But the plea deal stipulates that prosecutors will ask the judge to sentence her to probation.

Dixon was originally indicted on seven counts of transmitting threatening communications. The indictment alleged that Dixon — who is also known as “Chelainne,” “Chastity Atencio” and “Sydney Foster” — also threatened her boss after she was fired.

The termination came after Dixon’s boss reviewed a recording of a phone call with another customer from the day before. At the time she was fired, the cruise line did not know of the threat she made to the family in Illinois. Security personnel escorted her out of the call center at 4729 S. Palisade after she became hostile and threatening toward her former boss.

Dixon had faced five criminal charges for profanity-laced emails and Facebook messages she allegedly sent to her former boss that threatened personal harm.

Dixon had faced one additional count for allegedly calling the Illinois customer back several days after she was fired and again threatening the family.
