After crash killed motorcyclist on Kellogg, Wichita police search for minivan occupants
Wichita police are searching for several people who ran away from a vehicle after it crashed into and killed a motorcycle rider on Kellogg Sunday night.
Emergency crews were called at around 6:50 p.m. to an injury accident in the eastbound lanes of Kellogg near Hydraulic, Officer Charley Davidson said. Police found a Chrysler Pacifica with no one inside and a motorcycle rider who had been thrown from his bike, Davidson said. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified by police as 22-year-old Lamont McClary.
Investigators determined that McClary was riding in the middle lane of eastbound Kellogg when the motorcycle stalled. The silver 2007 Chrysler Pacifica then struck the motorcycle, ejecting its rider and causing fatal injuries. The driver and multiple passengers of the minivan ran away on foot.
The investigation is ongoing and police ask anyone with information on the case to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
