A 24-year-old Kansas man died Monday night in a chase with officers.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, Robert Scott Jackson of Coffeyville was driving a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 at a “high rate of speed” during a chase a few miles north of Coffeyville, in Montgomery County. When 4550 Road went from pavement to gravel, Jackson lost control, entered the east ditch and struck multiple trees. The chase occurred around 11:30 p.m.
The crash log does not say what started the chase or indicate why Jackson would have run from officers.
