Shooting death at Kansas college apartment was a homicide, Winfield police say
A man has died after he was shot at the Kansas college apartment where he lived, police said.
Emergency crews were called at around 1:08 a.m. on Wednesday to the Honor Apartments at Southwestern College, the Winfield Police Department said in a news release. The resident of the apartment was the victim of a shooting and was taken to a Wichita hospital.
The man died of his injuries Friday, police said. He was identified as 32-year-old Gabriel Luna.
Police said the shooting is being investigated as a criminal homicide. Officers think it to be an isolated incident with no immediate threat to the public. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Winfield police at 620-221-5555.
