Wichita man succumbs to injuries from Dec. 5 hit-and-run, police say

Police said the man hit by a truck on Dec. 5 died Wednesday from his injuries. They identified the victim as 34-year-old Malcolm Showalter, of Wichita. Police are still looking for tips in the case.
Update Dec. 7:
Police say the man remains hospitalized. They have released an image of the truck they believe to be involved in the hit-and-run.

Wichita police are asking for help finding the driver of a light-colored truck who hit a 34-year-old man Thursday night while he was crossing an intersection at Hydraulic and Indianapolis, then took off.
Officer Charley Davidson said police were called at around 7:55 p.m. and found the man lying in the road. He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries and remains hospitalized. The driver, Davidson said, was headed north on Hydraulic and went to turn west on Indianapolis when he hit the man. The intersection is a few blocks southwest of Interstate 135 and Kellogg.
Officers believe the truck was a late-1990s to early-2000s regular cab pickup truck.
