Wichita police issue 58 tickets in 2 hours to drivers on newly-opened section of Kellogg

A morning traffic enforcement on a newly-opened section of Kellogg in east Wichita where road construction is ongoing resulted in 58 tickets, police said.

The Wichita Police Department had two-hour traffic enforcement Wednesday morning on Kellogg between Webb and Greenwich, officers said in a Facebook post. Officers with the traffic unit and Patrol East bureau wrote 58 citations during that time.

Police did not break down the types of tickets that were written.

City transportation officials on Nov. 21 reopened two lanes of the Kellogg freeway in both directions in that area after four years of road construction. The area remains an active construction zone with a 40 mph speed limit.
