Man dies after being found shot outside duplex in southeast Wichita

The Wichita Police Department is asking for tips into a Tuesday morning shooting after a 31-year-old man with gunshot wounds was found outside his home in southeast Wichita.

Robert Junior of Wichita later died at the hospital from the gunshot wounds.

Capt. Brent Allred said a neighbor went outside to check if someone had broken into a vehicle in the driveway. Near the driveway, he found Junior, who also lives at the duplex. The neighbor called police at around 2:20 a.m. to the home in the 8500 block of East Parkmont.

Junior was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died, police said.

Allred said police don’t think the shooting was gang- or drug-related, or random. Allred asked for anyone with information about the shooting to call detectives at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
