Two shot, one dead and one in custody after south Wichita shooting
A 24-year-old man died after being shot in the chest at a south Wichita home Saturday morning during a suspected drug-related incident, the Wichita Police Department said.
Officer Paul Cruz said police were called around 5:45 a.m. to a home in the 1200 block of South Main. The 24-year-old was found inside with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital, where he died. A 25-year-old man, who was shot once in the arm, drove himself to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury, Cruz said.
A 20-year-old suspect at the home was taken into custody without incident, Cruz said. Cruz said the men knew each other.
The names had not been released as of Saturday afternoon. The shooting was under investigation.
