Four people were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure after a Sedgwick County deputy struck their vehicle, causing it to go into a ditch and roll, which ended a short chase that started Wednesday morning near Haysville.
Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Lt. Tim Myers said a neighbor called 911 at 7:39 a.m. about four people going in and out of a house in the 8400 block of South West Street. As deputies were en route, the neighbor told dispatch the four people left in a silver car.
The car was spotted just south of the residence, Myers said.
The chase ended less than a mile later, Myers said, after the driver turned east on West 87th Street South. A deputy struck the back bumper of the car, causing it to go into the ditch and then roll.

Myers said he expects the four people, two men and two women, to be taken into custody later today. The two women were ages 28 and 29. One man was 24 years old. Myers did not know the age of the man driving the car.
