Jimmy John’s delivery man robbed near Oliver, Lincoln

A Jimmy John’s delivery man was robbed late Monday night by two men, police say, near Oliver and Lincoln.

The 24-year-old man told police he pulled up to a house in the 4900 block of East Morris shortly before 10 p.m. when he noticed no lights on in the residence, Lt. James Espinoza said.

He was reaching into his pocket to retrieve his cellphone when he was approached by two men — one of whom indicated he had a gun, Espinoza said. They demanded and received his wallet and then made several verbal threats to the victim before leaving the area on foot. They did not take the food, police said.

The delivery man was not hurt, Espinoza said. It’s the seventh robbery of a delivery man so far this year, he said. That compares to 11 in all of 2014.
