Police looking for vandal who etched ‘CASER’ in Delano businesses’ windows and doors

Wichita police are looking for a vandal who etched the word ‘CASER’ into the window and door glass of several Delano neighborhood businesses late Wednesday night.

Officer Charley Davidson said an employee of the Monarch restaurant noticed the vandal scratching the glass at around 10:45 p.m. and called 911. When officers started looking along Douglas for him, they found seven other businesses between McLean and Seneca with similar damage, Davidson said.

The vandal is described as a dark-haired white or Hispanic male in his late teens or early twenties, about 5-foot-8 with an average body type. He was wearing a heavy black hooded sweatshirt with light-colored patches on the shoulders and tan pants, Davidson said.

Anyone who knows his identity or who witnessed any of the vandalism is asked to call Wichita police detectives at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.

Crime Stoppers tips, which are anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward, can also be left online at www.wichitasedgwickcountycrimestoppers.com or using the P3 mobile app.
