Emporia man sentenced to 21 months on drug conviction
An Emporia man was sentenced Monday to 21 months in federal prison after law enforcement last year found more than 30 pounds of marijuana and nearly two dozen firearms at his home.
Keenan R. Linneman, 34, was sentenced after pleading guilty in July to one count of furthering drug trafficking by taking part in interstate commerce traveling, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said in a news release.
In the original complaint, Lyon County sheriff deputies in November 2013 found methamphetamine, about 35 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and 21 firearms on his rural property, according to a court document.
The firearms included handguns, shotguns and firearms. As a convicted felon, Linneman was prohibited from possessing guns. He acknowledged in court documents that he had felony convictions for selling drugs in 2004 and obstruction in 2010.
Linneman brought the marijuana from Texas, a court document said.
He initially faced five charges, but that was reduced in a plea agreement that he signed in July. Three of those counts involved firearms.
