A Wichita man could face prison time and a fine after he allegedly threatened to beat the behind of a government employee.

John O. Green, 52, of Wichita, is charged with threatening a Social Security Administration employee, U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister said in a news release.

Green is accused of making the threat while discussing the payee status of his Social Security payments during a phone call with the worker, according to court documents. Prosecutors alleged he ‘became upset and stated to the employee he was going to ‘come down there and beat your (expletive) ass.’”

The Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Protective Service investigated the phone call from June 25, 2018.

If convicted of the crime, Green faces up to a year in federal prison and a fine of up to $3,000.
