Robber threatened, used stun gun on Towne East mall security guard, police say
Wichita police are looking for a man who reportedly used a stun gun on a Towne East Square security guard late Sunday after the mall was closed.
The man got into the mall, approached and threatened two female security guards, 33 and 66, who were working after hours at the mall, 7700 E. Kellogg, Wichita police Officer Charley Davidson said Monday . The man went to the security office, demanded money from the guards and used the stun gun on one of the women. He took a cellphone from one of the women when she tried to call 911 and then ran away, Davidson said.
Davidson wasn’t sure exactly how the man got into the mall so late. The man threatened the guards at about 11:50 p.m., Davidson said.
The man is described as black, in his 20s or 30s, 5-foot-8 and about 160 pounds. He wore a black coat, black and orange gloves and was carrying “a large black Taser,” Davidson said.
