A Kansas man has been arrested on suspicion of shooting his neighbor in the head with a pellet gun, sending the victim to a hospital intensive care unit.

Emergency crews were called at around noon Thursday to a home in the 400 block of South Third in Madison, the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. Responding deputies learned there had been an ongoing neighbor dispute.

The victim had been shot in the head with a pellet gun but was able to give law enforcement information on a suspect, the sheriff’s office said. The victim was flown by helicopter to a hospital and was in stable condition in the ICU.

Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at the neighbor’s house and recovered the weapon. The neighbor, identified as 53-year-old Terry Lynn Bogart, was arrested later. He was booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated battery, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Madison is about 90 miles northeast of Wichita.
