Wichita man given eight life sentences for sexual assault
A 41-year-old Wichita man on Tuesday was handed eight life sentences without the possibility of parole for sexually assaulting underage girls.
Terrill Andrews was a registered sex offender in 2013 when he sexually assaulted three girls, Sedgwick County District Attorney Marc Bennett said in a statement. The girls were 13, 14 and 16 years of age. Two of them were runaways from a local halfway house.
District Court Judge Jeffrey Goering sentenced Andrews on three counts of rape, three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and two counts of sexual exploitation of a child, Bennett said. Goering ordered two of the life sentences to run consecutively.
Before the 2013 crimes were committed, Andrews was convicted of two counts of sexual intercourse with a minor in California, Bennett said. While in the Navy, he was courtmartialed for rape and sodomy.
