Teen girl on a skateboard was struck by a car in hit-and-run crash, Newton police say
Police in a Kansas town are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run crash who injured a teenage girl riding a skateboard.
Newton police said in a Facebook post that officers were called at around 4:10 p.m. Friday to a hit-and-run wreck in the 500 block of West Fifth Street.
“A teen on a skateboard was struck by a green passenger car, and the car then left the scene,” police said. “The teen was transported to the hospital by ambulance.”
The victim in the case was a 17-year-old girl who was trying to cross the street, the Newton Kansan reported.
Police ask anyone with information on the driver of the green car to call 911.
