Officers from Reno, Stafford counties arrest person of interest in death of Dodge City woman
Reno County authorities stopped and arrested a man considered a person of interest in a homicide in Dodge City.
Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson said by e-mail that deputies from his office and the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office tried to make a felony traffic stop west of South Hutchinson at U.S. 50 and Whiteside about 10:50 p.m. Monday. The driver accelerated and led law enforcement on a pursuit that topped speeds of 120 mph.
A 26-year-old Dodge City man was pulled over on U.S. 50 at Mayfield and was taken into custody without incident. He was arrested on suspicion of criminal possession of a firearm, flee and elude, and cocaine possession, Henderson said in the e-mail.
The man is a person of interest in the death of 30-year-old Natasha Pruitt, who was found dead at a Dodge City home Monday afternoon.
Dodge City police said her death is being investigated as a homicide but have not released details about how she died or other information about the case.
