A 25-year-old man and woman were arrested during a Wichita home burglary investigation, Officer Charley Davidson said during Monday’s police briefing.

At about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers went to a burglary call at a home in the 400 block of South Fawnwood, which is southwest of Maple and 151st West, Davidson said. When police arrived, a 65-year-old man told police that someone “entered a vehicle parked in the driveway and also the attached garage,” according to a release from the department.

The man reported than a Yamaha 125 Motorcycle, DeWalt cordless drill and battery packs were stolen, the release states.

A nearby home provided police with surveillance video that showed officers a suspect vehicle — a white Chevy HHR, police said. That SUV has been used in several other recent burglaries too, the release states.

Police were able to stop that vehicle in the 9100 block of West Murray. Jordan Evans, 25, of Wichita, was inside the SUV with 25-year-old Regan Riner, also of Wichita. A New Frontier rifle was also inside the car, police said.

Evans was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, theft, felon in possession of a firearm and outstanding warrants, police said; Riner was arrested on outstanding warrants.

The motorcycle was found in the 400 block of West Central and returned to its owner. The case is still under investigation.
