Police have arrested a woman after another woman was stabbed in the neck at a south Wichita motel, officials said.

Emergency crews were called at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday to the Relax Inn, 2232 South Broadway, Officer Charley Davidson said in a news release. That’s about two blocks north of the Patrol South police substation at Broadway and Pawnee.

Officers found a 25-year-old woman with a cut to her neck, Davidson said. She was taken to a hospital, where she is in critical, but stable, condition.

A 26-year-old woman — Teka Pardue — was armed with a knife when officers arrived, Davidson said. She dropped the knife and was arrested without incident after officers gave her verbal commands.

Investigators determined that Pardue allegedly stabbed the victim once after they got into an argument, Davidson said.

Pardue was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, aggravated weapons violation and possession of drug paraphernalia, jail records show. She is being held on a $150,000 bond.
