He robbed a downtown Wichita bank and ran off with cash, but didn’t get far, FBI says

A lone robber ran from a downtown Wichita bank with cash, but he didn’t make it far, officials said.

The male robber entered Emprise Bank at 257 N. Broadway at around 3 p.m. Monday, FBI spokeswoman Bridget Patton said in a release. He threatened that he had a weapon, but none were seen.

The robber took the cash and ran from the bank, but a bank security officer found someone matching the robber’s description nearby and took him into custody, the release said. The suspect has now been arrested, but was not identified by officials.

No injuries were reported.

A Wichita Police Department spokesman said no additional information was immediately available.

Booking reports show Timothy Bernard Riggans was arrested at the bank’s address on suspicion of robbery. He is being held in the Sedgwick County Jail on $100,000 bond, records show.
