One woman was taken to the hospital after she was shot in the leg early Monday, Wichita police said.

Officer Charley Davidson said officers responded to a shooting call at about 1:15 a.m. at the Brickstone at Woodlawn Apartments on the 2300 block of N. Woodlawn. They found a 36-year-old woman who had been shot in the leg. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The woman had heard multiple shots while on her apartment’s balcony when she was shot, police said. She saw two men with handguns leave the area on foot.

Police said the two men are suspects in the shooting, but police are unsure why they were shooting or who they were shooting at. Davidson asked that anyone with information on the suspects or shooting to call CrimeStoppers at 316-267-2111 or Wichita police detectives at 316-268-4407.
