A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection to a Hutchinson shooting that killed a teenager and injured another teen, police said.

Officers called at around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday to a reported shooting in the 500 block of North Washington in Hutchinson found an unresponsive man with a gunshot wound lying on the ground, the Hutchinson Police Department said in a Facebook post.

The man, identified as 18-year-old Norman Cushinberry, was pronounced dead at the scene, Capt. Troy Hoover said in the Facebook post.

An officer in the 100 block of East 11th Street was flagged down by a motorist, who had a passenger who had been shot, police said. That 18-year-old man was taken to a Wichita-area hospital.

Police said they think the second man was also shot in the 500 block of North Washington.
