A teenager’s early morning quest to buy a pit bull puppy didn’t work out the way he planned, police said Monday.
The 17-year-old boy told police he sent a request on Facebook for information about pit bull puppies, Lt. James Espinoza said. Someone he knew responded and gave him an address in the 4400 block of East Bayley, which is near Lincoln and Oliver.
The teen went to that location early Monday morning, Espinoza said, where he was contacted by two people in the front yard of the house. They told him to go to the back of the house.
Once he got there, the person who initially contacted him pulled out a gun and took the $150 the victim brought to buy the puppy, Espinoza said. He also took the victim’s shoes and a chain from around his neck.

The victim then left the area. He told police the suspects may be people he knows at school, Espinoza said.
