Police: Woman fires shots at boyfriend during argument

A woman got into an argument with her 45-year-old boyfriend shortly before 1 a.m. Friday at the apartment they were sharing in the 400 block of West Central in downtown Wichita, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. The argument escalated until the 38-year-old woman picked up a .40-caliber handgun “and fired shots at him,” Schroeder said.

The shots missed. Police were called and the woman was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail following questioning. The man referred to her as his “ex-girlfriend” after the shots were fired, according to a police document.

Schroeder said he did not know why the man and woman were arguing.
