He was weaving in, out of traffic at 100 mph on his motorcycle, police say
A man driving a motorcycle at about 100 mph on Rock Road while weaving in and out of traffic battered an officer after he was pulled over, Wichita police said.
A motorcycle officer saw a man driving a 2010 Kawasaki ZX-6 motorcycle north on Rock Road near Zimmerly while speeding and driving recklessly at around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Officer Charley Davidson said.
The officer pulled the motorcyclist over at Kellogg and Armour, about a mile away, but the man then ran, Davidson said. When the officer caught him, the man battered him as he was arrested, Davidson said.
The officer was not seriously injured, he said.
Booking reports show Colton Garrett Adkins, 20, of Rose Hill, was arrested on suspicion of battery of a law enforcement officer, obstruction, reckless driving, no driver's license and unsafe lane change.
