Juvenile set fire to house with people inside, causing $80,000 in damage, officials say
A minor was arrested after investigators determined a house fire was intentionally set Sunday night.
The juvenile was arrested on suspicion of aggravated arson after firefighters responded to a house fire in the 2200 block of North Richmond at 6:15 p.m., Wichita fire Lt. Jose Ocadiz said.
The fire was set inside the basement while three adults and two children were inside the house, Ocadiz said.
The fire caused $80,000 in damage, including $50,000 to the structure and $30,000 to the contents, Ocadiz said.
There were no injuries reported.
