Sheriff's Office identifies body found in ditch south of Wichita

Authorities have released the name of man found dead in a ditch south of Wichita Monday.

Ryan Bolen, 26, of Haysville, was found at about 2:15 p.m. Monday in the 8100 block of South Hydraulic, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office announced. Investigators are working the case as a suspicious death and are retracing Bolen’s activities on Sunday and Monday.

Authorities sought the public’s help in finding a gray 2006 Volkswagen Jetta, with the Kansas license plate number 653HUL. The vehicle was located early Tuesday night, Lt. Tim Myers said, though further details were not released.

Anyone with information about Bolen is being asked to call the investigation section of the sheriff’s office at 316-660-5300.

“Someone in the community knows what happened and we need their help with this investigation,” a sheriff’s office statement said.
