Man who kidnapped and sexually assaulted girlfriend sentenced to 51 years in prison

A Wichita man who attacked his girlfriend was sentenced to over 51 years in prison on Friday.

Cletis O’Quinn, 54, was sentenced to 620 months in prison by Judge Christopher Magana, District Attorney Marc Bennett said in a release on Monday. O’Quinn was found guilty by a jury in March 2017 of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual battery and aggravated battery.

O’Quinn twice choked his girlfriend until she was unconscious in the 2015 attacks, Bennett said. He was on parole for convictions of the same crimes from a 1989 case, where the victim was a young girl working at a Wichita convenience store.
