Updated: Man arrested after shooting Tuesday morning
A 27-year-old man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the shoulder early Tuesday, Wichita police said.
It happened in a house in the 2600 block of South Jewett just before 2 a.m. That’s near Pawnee and George Washington Boulevard.
The man got into an argument with another 30-year-old man, who is accused of firing one shot, Officer Charley Davidson said. Two women, one of whom is the girlfriend of the accused shooter, were also in the home. All of them, other than the 30-year-old, live there, Davidson said.
Three children – ages 6, 10 and 11 – were also in the home.
No one else was injured.
After the shot was fired, the 30-year-old left in a 2002 Escalade. He was later arrested just after 12:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of North Grove.
Suspect from south Jewett shooting just taken into custody peacefully with no use of force. Great job by officers!!
