Wichita police investigating suspicious death of 26-year-old man
Wichita police are investigating the death of a 26-year-old man as suspicious.
Sgt. Ed Brower said someone saw an unconscious man lying in a yard in the 2400 of East Murdock at around 7:30 a.m. Thursday and called 911.
Police and EMS tried to resuscitate the man, but he was pronounced dead at 8:12 a.m., Brower said.
“Unsure of cause of death at this point, but should know more after an autopsy,” Chief Gordon Ramsay said on Twitter. “Spoke with family and neighbors to offer comfort and support.”
About six evidence markers were seen in the street on Murdock, about a half block east of Grove.
The man doesn’t live on the street and it wasn’t immediately known what, if any, connection he had to the area.
Asked if there is a public safety danger, Brower said no.
“Right now we’re just trying to find out details,” he said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111 or 911.
Stopped by an outdoor death scene of adult male near Murdock and Grove. Unsure of cause of death at this point, but should know more after an autopsy. Spoke with family and neighbors to offer comfort & support.
