Here’s how you can help a McPherson police dog stay safe
The McPherson County Sheriff’s Office has set up a GoFundMe account to help get their police dog training and a bullet-proof harness.
“These funds will be used to cover the cost of a 2 week training course with K-9 Defense, LLC in Phoenix, AZ and a ballistic harness from Canine Tactical of Iowa,” the fund says.
The course will improve Ravi’s general skills and his apprehension techniques. The harness will help keep Ravi save while working.
He’s a 7-year-old Belgian Malinois who is certified in tracking, patrol and drug detection. He’s the only police dog in McPherson County.
The department has raised more than $1,000 of its $6,000 goal as of Tuesday morning.
