His car was repossessed, and then he was hit with it, police say

An argument between a 67-year-old man and the tow-truck driver responsible for repossessing the man’s vehicle led to a hit-and-run injury accident, police say.

At about 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8 officers were dispatched to the injury accident at a house in the 1900 block of North Spruce. That’s near 17th and Grove.

The tow-truck driver had fled the scene after the argument, and in doing so, the man’s vehicle that the driver was towing struck the 67-year-old, police said.

The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening.

It’s not known whether the tow-truck driver knew he hit the 67-year-old, said Wichita police Officer Charley Davidson.

If you have information on the hit and run, contact Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
