Shots fired at vehicle with infant inside, Wichita police say
Shots were fired at a vehicle that was occupied by four adults and an infant Sunday night, Wichita police said.
The shooting happened at around 8 p.m. in the 4900 block of East Lincoln, near Oliver. A 20-year-old man was hit in the chest, Officer Charley Davidson said Monday.
Police think the adults in the vehicle were in the area to possibly be involved in a drug transaction, Davidson said. But when they arrived, two men came outside and shots were fired.
The infant and three other adults weren’t injured, Davidson said.
Police found multiple shell casings that had hit the vehicle and nearby buildings. It wasn’t clear Monday morning whether there was more than one shooter or how many shots were fired.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wichita Police Department at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
