Shortly before 5 p.m. Monday, Wichita police arrested a man in connection with the Emprise Bank branch robbery in downtown Wichita, according to Lt. James Espinoza, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The branch was robbed over the lunch hour on Monday.

A man entered the bank at 257 N. Broadway at 12:50 p.m. and demanded money while saying he had a gun, police said. The clerk complied with his request, and the suspect left the area on foot.

Throughout the afternoon, law enforcement authorities searched for the man.
