Police: Devices found in west Wichita hotel were pipe bombs
The two suspicious devices removed from a west Wichita motel room on Monday were pipe bombs, police said Tuesday.
Officers were called to WoodSpring Suites, 7525 W. Taft, at about 10:30 a.m. Monday, Officer Charley Davidson said in a prepared statement. The pipe bombs were found in the same room.
The area surrounding the room where the pipe bombs were found was evacuated. The latest known occupants of the room checked out on Sunday, according to hotel management. The investigation continues, Davidson said.
