Man snatches deposit envelope from woman in Conway Bank lot Friday night
Wichita police are searching for a thief who swiped an envelope of cash from a woman trying to make a late-night bank deposit Friday.
Sgt. John Hoofer said the 30-year-old woman told officers she was at Conway Bank, 121 W. Kellogg, when a man approached her from behind at 11:50 p.m. “He grabbed the envelope out of her hand and ran off into the neighborhood,” Hoofer said.
The man was wearing a plaid long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and a baseball hat and had a black bandana covering his face when the theft occurred. Police were unable to find the man.
Hoofer said the man did not threaten the woman, and she was not injured. He did not know how much cash was in the envelope.
