Wichita police are investigating an armed robbery and attempted armed robbery of two businesses Saturday morning.
The first happened at about 6:45 a.m. at Sonic Drive-In, 2313 W. Pawnee. Two 30-year-old employees told police a man entered the restaurant armed with a handgun and demanded money. He also took one of the employee’s cellphones. He left on foot. No one was injured.
Then at 10:30 a.m., officers were sent to Circle K, 515 N. Seneca, after a 25-year-old employee said a man went into the store, claimed he had a gun and demanded cash and cigarettes. She went to push the alarm and the man left, Davidson said. No one was injured and the man didn’t take anything.
