Kansas Department of Revenue agents on Friday seized the assets of Star Motors LLC and three people for nonpayment of retail sales tax.

The agents, accompanied by Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter, served tax warrants at Star Motors, 400 N. West, on Friday morning. The defendants reportedly owe more than $233,000 in unpaid retail sales taxes, according to a press release from the department of revenue.

The business has been closed and all seized assets will be sold at public auction, with proceeds paying for delinquent taxes. Assets seized included all known bank accounts, on-site cash, business inventory and personal property belonging to the owner.

Warrants were served to Rakan Waleed Shisha, Waleed Hazma Shisha and Brandon Lloyd Walker, state officials said.
