Man stabbed overnight near south Wichita bridge
A man stabbed late Thursday night near the John Mack Bridge in south Wichita was hospitalized after he went to a nearby shopping center for help.
Wichita police Officer Charley Davidson said officers responding to a call of a cutting in the 2400 block of South Broadway at about 11:40 p.m. found the injured man, who is in his 30s. The shopping center where he was found, on the southeast corner of Pawnee and Broadway, includes a Walmart and a Dollar General Store. It’s just north of the bridge, which arches over the Arkansas River in the 2700 block of South Broadway.
The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Davidson said. It wasn’t immediately clear what prompted the stabbing.
