Andover wants you to name its new police dog

The city of Andover has a new police dog watching over it, and he needs a name.

The dog is a 17-month-old Belgian Malinois who was born in the Netherlands, the Andover Police Department said in a Facebook post Friday.

On Sept. 18, Officer Joel McLaughlin will begin a 10-week training course with the Wichita Police Department and Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.

The police department is asking the public to help name the new dog. If you have an idea, comment on the police department’s Facebook post before Sept. 1.
