Mulvane custom hot rod shop raided, assets seized
Agents from the Kansas Department of Revenue seized assets from the owners of Chaotic Customs, also known as Chris Carlson Hot Rods, in Mulvane on Tuesday.
According to a news release, tax warrants were executed for Chris and Karma Carlson, both of Mulvane, for the nonpayment of state retail sales taxes and state withholding taxes totaling nearly $106,000.
The warrants, the release said, were filed in Sumner and Sedgwick counties. The custom hot rod shop is located at 246 Industrial Drive.
Assets seized during the Tuesday morning raid included bank account information, cash, business inventory and other property belonging to the owners, the release said. The Mulvane Police Department assisted during the raid.
The shop was sealed closed with a public notice posted on the outside. All seized assets will be sold at public auction and the proceeds will pay for the delinquent taxes, the release said.
