A 28-year-old man faces two felony counts in connection with a Facebook post that prompted some social media users to call 911.

Brendon May was charged with criminal threat Thursday afternoon in Sedgwick County District Court. He was arrested at a business in the 10000 block of East Kellogg early Monday morning and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail, where he is being held on $50,000 bond.

Police have called the alleged threat nonspecific, but said the suspect had referenced an event that was to take place. Language in a Facebook post apologized in advance to family members of victims.

May’s preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 6.
